KTEC High School, part of KTEC Schools of Innovation, enrolls students in grades 9 through 12. We prepare our high school students not just to earn a high school diploma, but to transition directly into the workforce or postsecondary education.
A KTEC High School education includes:
Badges. Students work towards badges that represent skills needed to succeed in their chosen careers.
Content Seminars. Students delve deep into content areas of interest through seminar-style classes.
Dual Credits. Students earn dual college credits through Gateway Technical College.
Technical Career Paths
At KTEC High School, students have the chance to explore their interests in four career pathways. Each pathway provides experiences that go beyond the classroom, with opportunities for industry recognized certifications and Gateway Technical College credit.

At KTEC High School, students complete sixteen industry certifications. Upon selecting one of our four Technical Career Paths, students have the opportunity to pursue more specialized certifications. Students can earn additional certifications by taking courses outside their chosen path.
Students in 11th and 12th grades engage in a simulated workplace experience in one of our four Technical Career Paths. Within a simulated workplace, students and instructors collaborate to create a culture that emphasizes each student’s interests, capabilities, and learning styles. Local business and industry experts provide additional review and support.
As part of their senior year requirements, KTEC High School students complete a capstone project in their chosen Technical Career Path, overseen by a Technical Career Mentor. These projects address current industry trends, provide solutions to industry problems, and/or develop inventions to meet industry needs.
KTEC High School students participate in a career fair at the end of their junior and senior years. Unlike typical career fairs where employers have booths to showcase their companies, this career fair gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and capabilities by presenting portfolios, resumes, and cover letters to potential employers.
KTEC High School students have the opportunity to participate in a business shadowing program connected to their chosen Technical Career Path. Students spend one to three days shadowing at a business, gaining real-world experience and insights. Through partnerships with local businesses, some KTEC High School seniors complete additional internships during or after the school day.
