KTEC is excited to announce the planned opening of KTEC Schools of Innovation in the 2025-26 school year. This expansion of the current KTEC High School’s charter will include a new elementary school (4K-5) and middle school (6-8). Together, these three schools will form KTEC Schools of Innovation: a unified, STEM-focused, career-prep pathway serving students from 4-year-old Kindergarten through high school.
Pending approval by the Office of Educational Opportunity at the University of Wisconsin, the new elementary and middle schools will be located at the Saint Mary’s School campus in Kenosha, which currently houses KTEC High School. The KTEC Schools of Innovation will be tuition-free public charter schools overseen by an independent board of directors, and will operate independently of Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD).
“We are excited to offer a continuous, innovative educational experience from 4-year-old Kindergarten all the way through high school,” said Dr. Angela Andersson, who will lead the newly expanded KTEC Schools of Innovation. “This expansion allows us to create a seamless, STEM-focused pathway that prepares students for success in college and the careers of tomorrow.”
KTEC Schools of Innovation will continue to prepare students for college and career pathways that target the most in-demand fields in Kenosha County. The charter schools will partner with local industry leaders such as Krones, Weldstar, and Aviation Advisors; global industry leaders including Snap-on, Inc., Trane, Lincoln Electric, and Festo; and higher education institutions like Gateway Technical College and Carthage College
“We are creating a new type of public school that erases the boundaries between high school and college, ensuring students are equipped for high-demand careers,” said Paul Fegley, President of the KTEC High School Governance Board. “In order to provide opportunities for all students in our community, it only makes sense to expand our program into a full 4K-12 school model,” he said.
KTEC Ceases Operations at Lincoln Middle School
This announcement follows a mutual agreement between the board of the original KTEC 4K-8 school and the Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) to conclude their charter agreement. KTEC will cease operations at the Lincoln Middle School site by January 24, 2025. Beginning January 25, 2025, KUSD will assume full responsibility for the education of students currently enrolled at the Lincoln Middle School facility.
“We are proud of the impact KTEC has had in Kenosha,” Dr. Andersson said. “While we are saddened to see our current partnership with KUSD end at the Lincoln Middle School site, we are excited about the opportunity to unify KTEC under one board and one campus. We can’t wait to begin empowering the next generation of innovators.”
Enrolling Students for the 2025-26 School Year

Spaces are limited and the enrollment window closes on February 7, 2025.
