Jenny Dziewior
Kindergarten
Jenny Dziewior’s path to teaching started in her mother’s classroom. Growing up, she would tag along to school and help with the students, and in doing so, discovered what she calls the magic of early childhood: the excitement, the wonder, and the pure curiosity kids bring to the world around them. She has since built a career around that discovery, earning an M.Ed. in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University and dual bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education and Geography and Environmental Planning from Elmhurst College. Most recently, she served as a 1st grade teacher at Riverview School in Silver Lake, Wis., and was named a Herb Kohl Fellowship recipient in 2006.
At the heart of her teaching is a belief that early education sets the tone for everything that follows. Kids who race into the classroom to show you a wiggly tooth, who approach every new discovery with wide-eyed excitement, are doing exactly what learning is supposed to feel like. Jenny’s goal is to protect that sense of wonder for as long as possible, giving every child a positive start to their school career so they look forward to, rather than dread, the years of learning ahead.
Outside the classroom, Jenny enjoys organizing, making paper crafts, and designing things on the computer. She is excited to bring that same creativity and attention to detail to her kindergarten classroom at KTEC Schools of Innovation.
